as someone who makes stories out of other people's words and images as much as my own, i am constantly evaluating my position as a semi-permeable membrane. at best, i'd like to think of myself as a kind of empathetic devil's advocate who values earnestness over irony and integrity over impact. at the very least, i am a student of the human condition, by turns mirror, hammer, orchestrator, and creator. in the end, i make rhythmic, multiform narratives connected more by their shared filter than their subjects. one thing i have learned is that truth is as subjective as aesthetics.
